Johnson is a Muggle born wizard that was orphaned at a young age when his parents were killed in a wizarding accident. His aunt took care of him as a child and became the center of everything he cared about when he was young. This remained even so when he was older. At a young age, he was withdrawn from others, and rather serious constantly. Johnson exceeded in Hogwarts and became an auror, thinking he wanted to help people. Johnson became much more withdrawn when his Aunt passed away. Johnson resigned from the Ministry of Magic through unknown reasons and sunk into a depression for a period of time.
Johnson signed up for the Muggle Military later on, becoming a little more open with people. Having believed he had done so many terrible things, he wished to regain his humanity by being who he should have been from the start. Johnson became a rather well known Drill Sergeant and soon climed the ranks to a more pronounced position before finally retiring from a life in the military.
Sgt. Johnson shares a bit of a friendship with Joseph Masters since they were both Aurors together, and also had a hand in destroying a magical artifact called Halo, which may have wrought global destruction if they did not intervene. This was of course, when they were both still Aurors. Johnson remained in the military for quite some time, drawn to stay due to his sense of loyalty. Johnson, however, retired from the military when he decided that he should pass his knowledge down through a different means. Some point in his work, Johnson received a condition, which made him immune to the poisons that originate in plants. The origin of this condition was believed to have originated from some form of exposure, but that is unknown.
A.J. is a very interesting person, and usually acts almost like the perfect ‘Drill Sergeant’. In the military he was constantly expecting only the best out of people and used and still uses any means to push them to their limits. In first impression, he appears to be somewhat of a slave driver, but in truth just tries to get people to work harder through insults by trying to make them prove him wrong in his accusations.
Aside from his tough attitude towards people, Johnson is usually very competitive with those of his age and enjoys talking to them as he would his platoon when he was in the military. On occasion, he will see to it that people (Particularly, women), will get the respect that they so rightly deserve even if he has to put the person through exercise to accomplish that.
